Review groups on Facebook

I actually started reviewing through Facebook groups.  With groups it is done a bit different.  Of course each group has their own rules.  Most will have forms for you to fill out.  They do this to keep track of who is doing what.  I started a with two groups and then quickly added more.  I think I am in about at least a dozen groups right now.  I will list the ones that are closed, meaning you have to ask to join but usually they will add you.  I belong to a few secret ones and what that means is you have to be added by the administrators and they usually only do that when they need more members.  If any of these open up and we are told to add people I will notify everyone by Facebook and this blog.  So here are the Facebook groups.  Just enter the name into the search bar on Facebook and when you get to that page click the join button.  Remember, these are only a few of the hundreds out there.  But they are the ones I know of personally.

Pain relief and a good night sleep!

I reviewed Arnica Cream by Back To Normal. It comes in a cute little box but what is inside is awesome.  I have chronic knee pain and this cream really seems to help.  The is no menthol smell and it is non greasy.  I am impressed and would recommend this to those with any type of muscle or arthritis pain.

I also was able to review this awesome memory foam pillow from My Stunning Abode.  This pillow is contoured to support your neck while you are sleeping.  It is a bit smaller then a conventional pillow but I still fell in love immediately.  I love the silky soft cover made from bamboo.  The kids are not getting this one from me!!

I promised another link.  This one sends offers by email to.  You choose what you want and ignore the rest.  Just always remember to leave your review of the item on amazon.

Review love!

If you can't tell by now, I love reviewing.  I mean seriously, free or dirt cheap items just for giving my opinion.  I have to say I love the avalanche of packages I get delivered to me everyday too.  So do the kids.  We live way out in the country on a gravel road and don't get much traffic.  One day the kids came running in the house all alarmed yelling "the Fedex truck just drove by our house and he didn't leave any packages!!!"  Yeah, it's that bad. I promised you some more links.  Here are a couple more of my favorite.

Now I want to tell you about one of most favorite items so far.  I say our because Gordon immediately claimed this as his own.  This is a headlamp.  My first thought was why would I need a headlamp.  I decided to try it anyway.  This awesome headlamp has three brightness settings plus can flash red.  It also can be tilted so you can see downward, as if to read or see where you are walking.  Or it can tilt up so you can see straight ahead.  The headband itself can be adjusted to pretty much any size head, from Gordon's big ole melon to Dominic's little toddler noggin.  Gordon loves it for when he has to go outside at night to get something done whether it is round up the chickens or to go get firewood.   And it is waterproof!

How do you become a reviewer?

Okay by now you are probably wondering, how do I become a reviewer.  To be honest I just stumbled upon it while checking out coupon groups on Facebook. Once I got into my first couple of groups I started branching out on my own looking for more.  Believe me there are tons out there.  So I am going to give you some links to some of my favorite groups.  First thing though is if you want to do this you have to have a history of posting reviews on Amazon. Almost all the review groups are for amazon, I have found very few for any other store.  So if you have purchased on Amazon in the past, go review a few items that you have bought, using the most current purchases.   Secondly, having amazon prime is a huge bonus.  The items you are going to purchase will be free or at minimal cost but if you don't have prime you will have to pay for shipping.  Once you get an item, leave a review as soon as possible.  Some groups give you a certain amount of days to get them done.  Next, try to strive for a four or five star review.  Most sellers want you to contact them, or if through a group contact the group administrator, to try and resolve any issues you might have with their product.
Okay, so where are those links....   Here are two to get you started.

This group sends you an email everyday with a link to their site.  Three times a day they post what they have up for review. The trick to this site is to click on it exactly at the time.  I've even found that at times the stuff will be put up a minute or two early. Yes, I do sit there and refresh the page over and over.  I've rarely seen anything free here but items are definitely at a deep discount, usually anywhere from $1-$3.
This next group is a bit different.  You earn points and have to use the points to "buy" a coupon.  They start you out with enough points to get one item at first.  The thing to remember with this one is to post your review through this site.  Items usually cost UNDER $1.

My first review item ever.

So when I first found out about reviewing, I was so excited I could not contain myself.  One of my first items was something I had been thinking about buying anyway.  A digital food thermometer.  This one by Gourmet Canteen is perfect!  I have always wondered if my roast, chicken, or whatever is over cooked or worse yet under cooked.  This one has a large display, great for my aging eyes.  It also is very user friendly and best of all it came WITH  batteries!  Here is my review.

How I became a frugal grandma

Welcome to my blog.  Sit down, have a cup of coffee, tea, or wine.  I will entertain you with the tales of how I became a frugal grandma.  My first stab at being shop savvy was not very successful.  Well at least not to my mother.  I thought I had done great!  Mom sent me shopping for a dress for high school graduation.  She gave me $100 and told me to shop wisely.   This was 1979, so $100 made me feel rich.  I spent hours at the mall trying to find the right dress (I hated and still hate dresses).  Finally I found one I could tolerate and it was ON SALE!  It was regularly $99, but was marked down to $59!  I purchased the dress and then rushed down to my favorite music store and bought $40 worth of records!  I was in heaven.  My mother tried to explain to me that saving $40, then spending it was not a savings.
Soon I moved out on my own and truly learned how to shop sales, clip coupons, etc.  Once I had a family I tried to find ways not only to save money, but to earn it and still be a stay at home mom.  I tried stuffing envelopes, took too much time and made very little money.  I tried phone soliciting for a local charity...  Definitely not for the faint of heart. People really hate anyone calling, even for charity.  Next up was secret shopping.  It was really enjoyable but there was no way to make much money unless you were able to line up a lot of jobs in the same area at the same time.  I tried doing that with a fast food place and ended hating roast beef sandwiches for a long time.
Now I am older, disabled, taking care of my 25 yr old severely disabled daughter and raising four of my grandchildren.  Recently I've discovered reviewing products.  Sellers will send you products for free or deeply discount in exchange for your honest review.  What's the catch?  So far, nothing that I can see.  Now I have to admit, at first I took every product offered.  But I now only take things I can really use or gift to someone.  I have a box I am getting ready to send to my sisters nursing home.  They play bingo every week and need prizes.  So as soon as I fill this box I will ship it off and start another.
That's it for now.  Later I will post some if the items I am reviewing.
